Dr. Sandra Dees, an NCU graduate who pursued her Doctor of Education with a specialization in Leadership in Higher Education is the recipient of the Winton Woods Community Award, which recognizes a team member who is dedicated to the success of their school district.

Born in Detroit, MI, NCU alum Dr. Paul Sanders joined the U.S. Army right out of high school serving from 1985-2009. The Army provided discipline and structure similar to his upbringing. Dr. Sanders travelled and lived in different parts of the world which provided great experiences for a young person. Eventually, he saw the light and the importance of an education.

NCU alum John P. Rosa, EdD, served 14 years in the military where he was taught that purpose and the will to succeed can make change to the smallest of obstacles thus leading to a bigger change in life. An Education Specialist for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Dr. Rosa earned his Doctor of Education with a specialization in Organizational Leadership in June 2017.

NCU alum Dr. George Dewey Davis III, Captain United States Navy, began his service with the U.S. Navy in 1981. Dr. Davis will be graduating from the Naval War College in November with his follow-on assignment as the J6 Cyber Division Chief for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. For Dr.

Dr. Normajean Cefarelli, a graduate of the NCU Marriage and Family Therapy program, served with the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1985 as an Administrative Specialist tasked as the Awards Supervisor, Company Commander Driver and Battalion Photographer. Her proudest moments were serving on the Honor Guard Funeral detail while stationed in Fort Jackson, SC and as one of the first females to complete basic training alongside men at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Dr. Jared Perry earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration with a specialization in Homeland Security: Leadership and Policy in June 2017. Dr. Perry began his military career in 1999 in the United States Marine Corps serving in the US Navy Ceremonial Guard, VF-32 and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
