Robert Porr School of Health SciencesRobert Porr’s experience in healthcare spans multiple roles; clinical, administrative, trustee leadership, executive management, marketing and consulting. His technical clinical experience began as a hemodialysis technician at Long Island College Hospital, and as a biomedical engineer in Cardiothoracic and General Surgery at NY University Medical Center. Industry work includes marketing cardiovascular devices and implants such as prosthetic heart valves and angioplasty for Edwards Laboratories. Additionally, he served as Assistant Director for Greater New York Hospital Association’s subsidiary, GNYHA Consulting, Inc. Prior to joining Sandlot Solutions as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, he was responsible for business development and delivery for health analytics to state and local government markets at Accenture, as well as serving as National Sales Director for State Programs and New Business Development at Thomson Reuters Healthcare.

In 2011, Robert was elected President of the NY Society for Health Planning and for eight years served as a trustee of the Board of Directors, Bon Secours Charity Health System and Hudson Health Partners, a strategic alliance of five hospitals. Bob received the 2005 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award, and was inducted into the Commission of Independent Colleges and Universities Alumni Hall of Distinction in 2008.

After 25 years of service in the Air National Guard, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as the Senior Administrator for the 105th Medical Group. During the spring of 2004, he served as Deputy Commander of the USAF 447th Expeditionary Medical Support Squadron, Baghdad International Airport, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In September 2001, Robert was tasked to respond to the World Trade Center attack. He supported operations Noble Eagle, Resolve Hope, and Enduring Freedom as the Air National Guard Liaison to the NYC Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management. He coordinated all logistics for Personal Protective equipment resources utilized by NYPD, FDNY and thousands of workers supporting the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero.

Robert received his MBA in Management from Baruch College, CUNY, BA from Marymount Manhattan College, and is a candidate for a Master's of Science Jurisprudence in Health and Compliance Law at Seton Hall University Law School.
