Institutions Need Leaders with a Strong Understanding of Organizational Dynamics
Strong leadership is needed in any educational institution. NCU’s organizational leadership specialization examines theories of leadership in education, corporate, government or community organizations. Under the guidance of your doctoral professors, you can concentrate on developing skills to forge alliances, build confidence and inspire a shared vision with members of a team. Institutions want leaders who have a strong understanding of organizational dynamics and know how to resolve conflict, promote ethics and inspire a shared vision. The organizational leadership specialization can advance your skills as an effective organizational leader by helping you develop a strong knowledge base in the practice of leadership across a variety of fields and examine the intrinsic role of mission, vision, purpose and core values in the development of an organization. You can learn the essential elements of effective leadership, dynamic cultures and an interactive community, and their influence in shaping organizational health and wellness. Graduates with this specialization may find careers teaching at the university level, focusing on research, working for an organization with an interest in organizational leadership, or with other positions in higher education, K-12 education, corporate training and development organizations, not-for-profit organizations and in government training and development.

“Leadership…is the thing that’s going to drive your organization. The way you treat your people and staff is how successful you’re going to be. Having a strong leadership willing to talk to their staff and have them be a part of the growth of the organization, I think, is absolutely phenomenal.” - Euraina Barnes, Master of Education (2016)
