The learning analytics K-12 specialization will help you develop the advanced knowledge you need to contribute to this field. The program studies the history of data analytics, key theories, leading experts, and components of data and how it is applied in K-12 environments. Additional areas addressed within the courses will help you identify relevant data in the K-12 environment including the role of demographics, academic ability, past performance, and effort. You will identify early and prominent foundations of student analytics and examine key theories, as well as views from leading experts. These best practices can be applied in K-12 learning environments and serve as a foundation for the design of data collection systems.
