Develop Skills to Identify Emerging Workforce Issues and Help Resolve Them Through Training and Instruction
In a global economy, educators who can train and develop the talents of others are crucial. Through a combination of theory, research and practical application, the global training and development specialization can prepare you to become a leader in the field of training and performance improvement. This specialization helps you develop skills to identify emerging workforce issues and resolve them through effective training and instruction. You can learn to critically analyze needs and evaluate the influences of how performance improvement and training should be designed from a tactical and strategic standpoint. You will also research organizational leadership, human resources, adult education, and organizational change for solution-driven effectiveness. Through one-to-one mentorship with doctoral professors, you will critically analyze training needs and strategize how performance improvement and training materials should be designed. In this specialization, you’ll study theoretical and practical information in adult education and human resources, as well as research and review strategies for future effectiveness. Graduates with a global training and development specialization might pursue positions in international training, consulting, higher education, instructional technology, human resources, organizational development, or human performance technology.
