For Those Passionate About Instilling a Love of Learning in Children
Help shape the future by making a difference in the education of young children through NCU’s early childhood education specialization. This specialization was designed to help you enhance your skills in scientific inquiry and leadership as you explore a broad spectrum of topics, such as growth and development, childhood literature, program administration, curriculum and assessment, and stakeholder partnerships. For those who want to be involved in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, as well as in coaching and guiding young children through their first years of life when social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development occurs, the early childhood education specialization is an ideal choice. As a graduate with this specialization, you can be prepared to pursue positions at public or private schools, daycare centers, kindergarten institutions or community colleges, in roles such as curriculum developer, manager or administrator, early childhood consultant and early childhood case manager. At NCU, you will be mentored by doctoral professors who help you learn to assess child development, create instructional programs, direct and coordinate learning activities, and manage early childhood classrooms and programs. You will be introduced to the critical development of partnerships between early childhood educators, families and communities and explore ways to create a positive learning environment that facilitates a child’s health and well-being, which is essential to early childhood education.

“I was really nervous at first because of my busy lifestyle, managing all the children and new business. But anybody can do it. You can customize it to meet your lifestyle. Just make a goal and you can do it. You’ll figure it out. Sacrifice.” - Amanda Callaray, Master of Education (2016)
