Financial management is important for the efficient operation of any organization, but it can be a particularly complex task within government agencies, public organizations and within the nonprofit sector. Professionals working in this type of role must not only understand the financial side of the organization, but also know how to operate within a complicated, bureaucratic environment. Students interested in preparing for a career in this field can gain the right skills and experience through our Financial Management specialization.
This specialization examines the relevant financial analysis of financial and non-financial organizations. Students will assess financial statements, explore foreign exchange issues and learn about risk and investment management. By the end of the program, students will demonstrate their knowledge with a final research project that includes identifying a workplace problem and an area for intervention along with creating a recommended plan of action.
