Pursue Justice in the Legal Field
The Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies is a degree completion program that focuses on the practical application of substantive law while encouraging critical thinking, ethical conduct, and social responsibility. In this program, you will gain the knowledge, practical skills, attitudes, and values that are necessary to excel as a legal professional and effective member of a legal team. Approved by the American Bar Association and taught online by experienced faculty who are practicing attorneys or legal professionals, the BA in Legal Studies enhances your critical thinking, analytical, and theoretical skills. In your first year of coursework, the online Paralegal Certificate is integrated into your curriculum, preparing you to practice as a paralegal. Through these courses, you will complete at least the 9 semester units of asynchronous instruction required by the ABA. Additionally, you will earn a legal technology certification credential as part of the program. This degree offers students an excellent foundation for law school and other graduate school programs, as well as the necessary skills and knowledge to have a competitive advantage in the market as a paralegal or business professional working with negotiations, regulations, and contracts, or working in the fields of law and criminal justice. Graduates are able to pursue careers as paralegals working for lawyers, law offices, corporations, and governmental agencies. To gain specialized knowledge and skills in legal technology, you can choose to add the Advanced Legal Technology specialization as part of your program.
