Dr. Walters is a dynamic leader that has an extensive background in business and higher education. She brings a wealth of experience that ranges from business analysis and budget management to serving as adjunct faculty and managing the curriculum for more than 450 courses. She has also been involved in a plethora of strategic planning and partnership building initiatives on behalf of Northcentral University.
Dr. Walters has held many previous roles in the field of higher education, including serving as NCU’s Interim Dean of the School of Education from 2014-2015. She has also been deeply involved in curriculum design, program development, and best practices in teaching and learning, serving as the Director of Curriculum for our School of Education from 2014-2016, and the Senior Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning since 2016. In addition, she is a Contributing Editor for Young Children (NAEYC), Editorial Review Board Member for The Reading Teacher (ILA), Editorial Review Board for The Record (KDP), and a reviewer for a plethora of peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Walters earned her MBA from Northcentral University and her PhD in Reading Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
