OPIE works to support stakeholders in their collection, analysis, and use of data to inform continuous improvement efforts. As such, we’ve have created many resources that provide insight, inform best practice, and offer opportunities to acquire the data needed to inform evaluation, assessment, and research needs.
Monthly Earfuls
Once a month, OPIE holds a webinar on topics surrounding evaluation, assessment, and research (EAR) based on OPIE efforts and stakeholder interest. Registration invites are email as well as posted in The Commons and NCUOne. Previous EARfuls include, but are not limited to:
- Survey Best Practices
- Demographic Data Collection Best Practices
- Kaltura: What, Why, and How to Improve its Use
Data Request Forms

Libguides

Program Reviews and Annual Assessment Reports
Annual Assessment Reports and Co-curricular plans are completed in the Anthology Planning tool on an annual basis. Program Reviews are completed on a multi-year cycle in Anthology. Schools have scheduled out their program reviews to 2030. OPIE manages this schedule and helps facilitate the review process. An overview and instructions for the use, job aids, guides, and more are available within the tool as well as through contacting OPIE (oair@ncu.edu). You can also contact the Center for Teaching and Learning (ctl@ncu.edu) to learn more about assessment related courses.
Strategic Planning Department Reviews
Strategic Planning Department Reviews are completed in the Anthology Planning tool on an annual basis. An overview and instructions for the use, job aids, guides, and more are available within the tool as well as through contacting OPIE (oair@ncu.edu). Additional resources for connecting plans to the larger goal sets (e.g., NCU VALUES, WSCUC CFRs) include the NCU Strategic Plan and WSCUC Handbook. You can also contact the Center for Teaching and Learning (ctl@ncu.edu) to learn more about assessment and strategic planning related courses.
