By participating in a global landscape, this community can continue to support the University’s mission of improving the human condition through education.

Saint Mary’s Food Bank 2019

Teams from our Scottsdale Service Center volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, Arizona. The afternoon was spent packing emergency food boxes with non-perishable items and giving back to the local community. St. Mary’s Food Bank serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education.
San Diego Heart Walk 2019
The NCU Team participated in the San Diego Heart and Stroke Walk, supporting the American Heart Association. NCU, along with our National University affiliate, raised funds for the organization as well as participated in the walk.

NCU Sails Royal Caribbean Cruise
In January 2020, students, alumni, faculty, staff, and leadership set sail on a Royal Caribbean cruise, sponsored by the NCU Alumni Association. While on board NCU hosted a student and alumni reception, an Academic Summit, the Faculty Senate Retreat as well as multiple NCU facilitated workshops. With over 100 participants, we were able to bring our community together in a fun and innovative way. Throughout the week we shared experiences, knowledge, and what is in store for NCU in 2020.

Edu-Tourism International Experiences
Edu-Tourism trips are opportunities for students and alumni to partake in diverse educational experiences that go beyond their academic program. Edu-tourism allows participants to explore different countries through an immersion into local cultures and provides a hands-on experience for learning about critical industries within the different countries around the world. Colombia, South America
In August of 2019, NCU traveled to Colombia, South America for an Edu-Tourism trip supported by Dr. Erika Prager, Director of Assessment in the School of Education. From learning about professional ethics in the Colombian justice system to visiting a local market in the city of Cali, the group of NCU students and alumni were immersed in the culture of the country from day one. Havana, Cuba
2017: Students and alumni were able to revisit Havana, Cuba in 2017. Students took part in daily lectures covering a range of disciplines. They also had the opportunity to meet with the Minster of Education, Minister of Tourism, and experience various locations such as schools, hospitals and clinics throughout city of Havana.
2015: Northcentral University doctoral students of all disciplines had the opportunity to visit Cuba's Universidad de la Habana. During their visit, students participated in field placements to learn about Cuban education, applied and research psychology and marriage and family therapy, and emerging business opportunities.
