MFT Programs Receive Reaffirmation of Accreditation by IACSTE

We are excited to share that Northcentral University’s marriage and family therapy programs have received re-affirmation of accreditation by the International Accreditation Commission for Systemic Therapy Education (IACSTE).

NCU’s Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy, Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy programs are now accredited through 2025.

Announcing the NCU Virtual Center for Health and Wellness

NCU is proud to support our communities through a new online resource, the Virtual Center for Health and Wellness.  The center will serve as a resource to the NCU community and the general public, providing information, tools, services, and trainings to help individuals, couples, and families.  The center will also serve as a training site for NCU students to apply the knowledge and skills taught in NCU’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences programs with their respective communities. 

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Northcentral University Receive $6.3 Million Grant to Research the Neuroscience of Religious Experience

CHICAGO AND SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (January 31, 2022) — The John Templeton Foundation has awarded Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Northcentral University a $6.3 million grant to study the brain basis of religious thought. It is the first large project grant devoted specifically to this topic and the largest in terms of funding.

January 5, 2022 -- The U.S. Department of Education has approved the nonprofit status of Northcentral University (NCU), and its affiliation with the National University System. NCU was approved as nonprofit by the IRS in 2019 and has operated as nonprofit since January 1, 2019.

Northcentral University’s Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice Receive Accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA (December 6, 2021) — Northcentral University’s Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs received initial accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for five years, which is the maximum allowed. The initial accreditation is effective retroactively as of February 8, 2021.

Accreditation signifies that these programs meet CCNE’s high standards.

Northcentral University’s Master of Social Work Program Receives Initial Accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education

Through NCU’s Center for Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), you can meet your licensing needs with online courses developed by our expert doctoral faculty.

Courses with APA approval are commonly accepted by boards that regulate licenses for psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical counselors, and social workers.*

NCU Supports Part-Time Faculty with Award from Pullias Center

Created by USC’s Pullias Center for Higher Education in partnership with AAC&U, the Delphi Award includes a $15,000 grant and recognizes innovative support of part-time / adjunct faculty in promoting student success.

Northcentral University’s Virtual Education Support Center launches Three Self-Paced Continuing Education Courses

(July 28, 2021) — This month Northcentral University’s Virtual Education Support Center launched three one-hour courses geared toward educators and school staff. The cost-effective, online and on-demand courses focus on social emotional learning and restorative discipline in educational settings for children and adolescents.
