Northcentral University’s Virtual Education Support Center launches Three Self-Paced Continuing Education Courses

(July 28, 2021) — This month Northcentral University’s Virtual Education Support Center launched three one-hour courses geared toward educators and school staff. The cost-effective, online and on-demand courses focus on social emotional learning and restorative discipline in educational settings for children and adolescents. Educators, paraprofessionals, school and program staff, parents and caregivers, and school board members will find these courses relevant.

NCU Makes Donation to Trevor Project in Honor of Pride Month

Northcentral University thrives as a diverse, inclusive community. This June, in honor of Pride Month, the university donated a portion of sales from the NCU Store to the Trevor Project. In total, NCU gave $122.40 to support the organization’s important mission. 

The Trevor Project provides critical resources like supportive 24/7 crisis services, year-round advocacy and ground-breaking research to create a world for LGBTQ young people that not only affirms their identities and encourages them to thrive.

NCU’s Master’s in Accounting Accredited by ACBSP through 2027

Northcentral University, a nonprofit, online, graduate-focused university, is pleased to announce that its Master of Science in Accounting program has obtained Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) accreditation through 2027.

“Accreditation means our program content meets ACBSP’s high standards for curriculum, learning outcomes and program assessment,” said Dr. Marie Bakari, who led the accreditation process. Dr. Bakari is program lead for the Master of Science in Accounting program.

COAMFTE Renews Accreditation for Northcentral University PhD-MFT

At its April 23-24, 2021 meeting, the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) voted to grant Renewal of Accreditation to Northcentral University’s doctoral MFT program for seven years. This is the maximum amount of time permitted, and NCU was one of only three programs to go through reaccreditation and receive no stipulations during this accreditation cycle.

Northcentral University Accreditation Reaffirmed Through 2028

March 4, 2021 — WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) reaffirmed Northcentral University’s accreditation for eight years. In its formal notification of action to Northcentral University, WSCUC commended Northcentral for best practices in several areas, including doctoral dissertation quality and asynchronous online learning, which the accreditor noted could serve as models for institutions nationwide.
