NCU's Teaching Through Engagement (TTE) model is key to successful online learning

At Northcentral University, we reject the “sage on stage” model of teaching – where a professor stands in the front of the room and lectures. It was never very effective in the traditional classroom, and is disastrous in an online course. Instead, we use a model, unique to NCU, called Teaching Through Engagement (TTE), © where the goal is for our students, faculty, and team members to be actively “engaged” in the University community. It is the model of faculty-student interaction that NCU uses to foster learning in our online environment.

During his 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Fred Edwards’ job titles included Chief, Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU); Superintendent, Wing Maintenance Quality Assurance; and Superintendent, Wing Maintenance Operation Control. The proudest moment of his military career was leading his EF-111A AMU from their main operation base in the United Kingdom to Desert Storm. Twelve aircraft and 65 aircrew and support personnel deployed to Incirlik AB, Turkey where they provided Airborne Radar Observation and Warning support for the Joint Air Taskforce.
