As you will be working with English-speaking faculty, you must be able to communicate effectively in written English. If English is not your native language, you will need to demonstrate English proficiency.TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson scores will be required prior to admission. Northcentral accepts only Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) test results, and requires a passing score of 95.
Testing information can be found on the TOEFL website. Official test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to the Northcentral Registrar. When you order test results or take a test for the first time, be sure to include the Northcentral School Code: 4572.
International English Language Testing System – ACADEMIC VERSION ONLY (IELTS)
Northcentral requires a passing score of 7.0 on the academic version of IELTS. Go to http://www.ielts.org for complete information. Test results must be sent directly to the Northcentral Registrar from IELTS.
We require a passing score of 65 for the academic version of the Pearson Test of English (PTE). Test results must be sent directly to the Northcentral Registrar from Pearson. Visit the Pearson Web site at http://www.pearsonpte.com/.
Test scores must be submitted before being granted acceptance and enrollment privileges. If applicant has already taken the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE, the test results cannot be more than two (2) years old.
Credential Evaluation
Applicants submitting diplomas, degrees, and course transcripts from non-U.S. institutions should have their academic credentials evaluated. The evaluation will determine if an applicant’s education meets admission requirements, and if any transfer credits will be awarded. Be sure to accommodate a credential evaluation in your enrollment timeline.
Official documents must be sent directly to WES AACRAO or ECE; it is important to list Northcentral University as a copy recipient on the application so that Northcentral will be electronically notified when the evaluation is complete. Please note that the Northcentral Registrar’s office cannot assist you in facilitating your credential evaluation through AACRAO.
