11/13/2013 - Northcentral University Offers Tuition Benefit to Members of the Houston Police Officers’ Union
PRESCOTT VALLEY, ARIZ, November 13, 2013 – Northcentral University (NCU), a global online, graduate-focused university, announced today that effective immediately, members of the Houston Police Officers’ Union (HPOU) will receive a 10 percent tuition benefit.
Northcentral University offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees with specializations in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Homeland Security with an applied focus on leadership & policy.
“These degrees are designed with law enforcement personnel in mind” shared A. Lee Smith, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business and Technology Management. “Courses address organized criminal gangs, delinquency and criminal justice and institutional corrections. Students also learn how to evaluate the coordination efforts of local, state, federal and multinational organizations and international resources at home and abroad.”

The HPOU represents over 5300 Houston Police Officers, and is the majority bargaining agent for Houston Police Officers in matters with the City of Houston. The goal of the HPOU is to protect the rights and working conditions of its members, while furthering their interests in matters of pay, training and education.
The tuition benefit can be applied to any NCU degree, and is available to all members of the Houston Police Officers’ Union, their spouses and children, retirees plus the spouses and children of fallen officers.
