Learners seeking admission to an NCU degree program must meet certain academic
standards. See the specific requirements for the degree program of interest, the
Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, or non-degree studies. International
Learners have special requirements, and US military Learners can receive tuition
assistance and special assistance in obtaining military transcripts.
Requirements vary by program:
Bachelor’s Degrees —
Admission to a NCU Bachelor’s degree program requires completion of high school education evidenced by
completion of high school education evidenced by an official high school transcript, or or a passing score
on acceptable equivalent exam.
Master’s Degrees —
Admission to a NCU Master’s program requires a conferred bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited
academic institution. xceptions are noted below.
Doctoral Degrees — Admission to an
NCU Doctoral program requires a conferred master's degree from a regionally accredited academic institution
to be accepted into a 51 credit hour doctoral program at NCU. Exceptions are noted below.
CAGS - (CAGS)Admission to a NCU CAGS program requires
a conferred master's degree from a regionally accredited academic institution.
Non-Degree Studies - Learners who currently are not seeking a
degree may apply to take individual courses.

NCU's Pschology program
Admission to the doctoral program in the School of Psychology will be determined by the degree used
for basis of admissions as follows:
Applicants with a master’s degree in Psychology (any concentration or specialization) or a related field
will enter a 51 credit doctoral program. (See
Catalog Section Twelve for a complete listing of related
degrees in the School of Psychology.)
Applicants with a master’s degree outside of the field of psychology will with enter a 60 credit hour
doctoral program.
A current resume is required with all applications for admission to any School of Psychology
doctoral program.
Marriage and Family Therapy Specialization (School of Psychology)
Applicants with a previously completed master’s degree in marriage and family therapy (not marriage and
family counseling or any other mental health discipline) will enter the 60 credit hour Ph.D. program.
Applicants with a completed master’s degree in a clinical discipline (counseling, clinical psychology, social work, etc.)
and who are licensed or license eligible (e.g. in the process of pursuing licensure) in a clinical discipline must have
their prior transcripts evaluated for potential transfer credit to meet the standard curriculum requirements.
A current resume or curriculum vitae is required with all applications for admission to the Marriage and Family Therapy
doctoral programs

Learners.
