Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies

Earn certification in a specialized field in just 18 credit hours.
NCU's Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) offers Learners a chance to advance in their chosen field or to embark on a new career through an 18-credit-hour course of study in selected specializations within the schools of Business & Technology Management, Education, or Psychology.

The CAGS program is designed specifically for professionals who desire concentrated continuing education delivered with the same academic rigor our Learners value.

CAGS courses are taught by the same highly qualified and credentialed Mentors that have made a degree from Northcentral University useful, relevant, and respected.

Each CAGS will transfer directly into a doctoral program at NCU.

Prerequisite: A Master's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution will satisfy admission requirements.

How CAGS works

  • Learners complete six courses in selected specializations in Business & Technology Management, Education, or Psychology.
  • Courses begin the first of each month and each course is completed in 12 weeks or less.
  • Those completing six courses of prescribed coursework with a 3.0 or better GPA will be awarded the certificate.
  • All course requirements are completed via the Internet, with no campus residency.
  • Credits earned are directly transferable into a doctoral program at NCU.

School of Business & Technology Management

Change is a constant in the broad field of business and few other areas of professional life are more demanding of ongoing knowledge development. For that reason NCU has developed the CAGS in a range of the most dynamic areas of business today.

School of Education

Education is a field where change is a constant, and a specialized certificate makes a clear statement that the educator is committed to professionalism and has developed expertise in specialized areas of the field. Credentials can be very important in education, and with that in mind NCU has developed the CAGS focusing on some of the most vital and dynamic areas in education today.

School of Psychology

Additional education may be a requirement for specific disciplines within the field of psychology. More significantly, a specialized certificate represents a clear statement to clients and associates that the practitioner is committed to professionalism and has further developed their expertise. Each CAGS offers a focused approach to a field that is designed to benefit individual Learners as well as those with whom they work.

If you later decide to seek a doctoral degree and apply to NCU for admission to a degree program, your CAGS credits will be applied toward the appropriate degree requirements.
