The e-Business specialization is designed for Learners who want to become proficient in conducting business on the Internet and/or the World Wide Web. Online marketing, Web-based applications, enabling methodologies and tools for online payment and transactions are included in the curriculum.

ECM5001 — E-Commerce for Entrepreneurs

This course is designed specifically for the entrepreneur launching a business. The Learner will look at e-mail targeting, direct e-mail marketing, use of brochure web sites, choice and use of mailing lists, web site development and maintenance, and generation of web site traffic.

ECM5002 — Web-Based Applications

This course is designed to provide the learner with step-by-step information on how to construct their own website. Specifically the learner is going to develop a website, develop a personal internet, develop web-based designs for intranet and internet and learn how web-based information is designed and presented. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to design and develop a simple website and/or become a much better manager of website development and technology.

ECM5003 — Graphic Designs for Electronic Commerce Applications

This course introduces learners to the basic principles of Web graphics and Web design. The concepts are related to Web graphics, including basic graphic elements and principles of design and creative strategies for developing effective Web-site graphics. These include graphic file formats, preparation of graphics for the Web, and site organization. Learners will participate in the creation of a website, develop skills for the integration of graphics into Web pages and gain an understanding of the value of graphics as an Internet marketing element.

ECM5004 — Managerial Electronic Commerce

E-Commerce is an essential part of business. This course is designed from an interdisciplinary managerial approach, which means the course will provide the Learner with exposure to E-Commerce applications in accounting, finance, information systems, computer science, engineering, and the legal issues. The course has been constructed to provide a global real world orientation, but not at the expense of learning the theoretical aspects of E-Commerce. Learners in this course will be continually using the Internet for assignments and will exploring new and practical websites.

ECM5006 — Integrated Supply Chain Management

This course is concerned with applying evolving methods in more closely integrating the processes of product distribution and supply chain management using the power and speed of electronic connectivity. The concepts presented can be applied to the activities of businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

ECM5007 — E-Commerce Marketing for the Internet

This course develops the framework for concept marketing on the Internet and is an extension of traditional marketing courses. The Learner will look at the Internet as a content resource, channel resource, and communication resource for marketing “business to business” and “business to consumer.”
