This CAGS will help Learners prepare for careers in auditing, corporate accounting, and accounting positions in government
and nonprofit organizations. This CAGS will develop Learners’ advanced accounting knowledge to pursue higher levels in
management, such as chief financial officer or controller, beyond calculation of financial statements into analyzing the
results. Courses may serve as preparation for the Uniform CPA examination.
ACC7000 — Managerial Accounting for Decision Making
This course focuses on formulating, evaluating and interpreting accounting information for managerial decision making. Topics covered
are: product costing, activity-based costing, profit planning, standard costing, flexible budgeting, target costing,
cost-volume-profit analysis, cost management, and capital budgeting.
ACC7010 — Accounting and Fraud Examination Techniques
This course examines the field of fraud examination to include: the nature of fraud, fraud prevention, detection, investigation
and management fraud. Cases of accounting fraud will be analyzed.
ACC7015 — Forensic Accounting Theory and Practice
This course reviews the role of the forensic accountant in investigations and audits. Topics covered are: the legal environment, Sarbanes-Oxley Act Of 2002, audit and investigation, dispute resolution and litigation services, information security, financial statement, and tax fraud.
ACC7025 Advanced Tax Strategies
This course evaluates most aspects of the U.S. federal tax system to include coverage of the most important tax concepts and principles comprising of planning and compliance such as: individual income taxes, partnership, corporate, estate and gift taxation, trusts and estate taxation.
ACC7030 — Advanced Auditing Methods and Practice
This course examines auditing theory and application of auditing standards to include: auditing and assurance services, professional standards, audit planning, substantive testing, internal control evaluation, evidence and procedures used by external auditors, and reports on financial statements.
ACC7040 — Advanced International Accounting
This course reviews international accounting practices and theories to include: harmonization of financial reporting and auditing, comparative accounting, translation, international taxation, transfer pricing and strategic accounting issues in multinational corporations.
ACC7045 — Advanced Cost Accounting
This course provides an analysis of strategic cost management and focuses on measuring and managing costs in relation to the real world. It covers topics such as: analyzing and managing costs, activity based management, process and cost allocation, planning, decision making, and evaluating performance.
