Northcentral University Appoints Dr. Clinton Gardner President

Prescott Valley, Arizona—November 8, 2007 — Northcentral University (www.ncu.edu), an innovator in 100% online higher education, today announced that Clinton D. Gardner, Ph.D. has been named president of the institution, to become the third president in the university’s history. Board of Trustees chair Martin Gottlieb stated, “Northcentral University is fortunate to be able to attract such an experienced and skilled chief executive. Dr. Gardner’s successful and impressive record of professional accomplishments in higher education and business makes him the most qualified person to lead Northcentral University towards its goal to become one of the country’s premier universities.” Gottlieb noted.

Dr. Gardner officially takes over the presidency of NCU on December 3, 2007. Prior to his appointment at NCU, Dr. Gardner served as President of Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona from January 2003 to the present. In this role, Gardner also served as the Chief Academic Officer of an institution with undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education and psychology. He provided leadership during an expansive period in the history of Argosy, as it experienced over 200% growth in student enrollment.

Dr. Gardner earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University, and he held numerous leadership positions at Michigan State University and Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan. During a career covering 25 years, Gardner has held positions in higher education that include University President, Senior Vice President for Management, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Vice President for Enrollment Management.

In addition to his extensive background in administration, Dr. Gardner has taught economics courses at Davenport University, education courses at Argosy University, and has served on numerous dissertation committees in business and education. He is a board member and past president of the Arizona Private School Association, and serves as a Consultant-Evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission.
