Freda Turner, Ph.D.

Dr. Freda Turner served as a Naval Officer for 20 years working in educational leadership. In that capacity, Dr. Turner oversaw
the development and delivery of executive and managerial training in domestic and international locations to
military personnel. She won the best-managed educational program and was honored at a Pentagon ceremony by the Secretary of
Defense for her management of programs. She did a great deal of volunteer work within the community and the
Florida Commissioner of Educational presented her an award for developing interactive programs that integrated
the highest number of students into educational programs.
Upon her retirement from the military, she became involved in online doctoral education. Dr. Turner’s
experience includes serving on over 30 doctoral committees. Three of Dr. Turner’s mentees won dissertation
awards and two other students earned top royalty fees paid by ProQuest Dissertations for the sale of their
dissertations in 2005.
Turner is a Higher Learning Commission accreditation evaluator/peer reviewer.
She has been involved in the development of two Ph.D. programs and served as Program Chair for three
doctoral programs. She has published numerous articles and presented a number of professional conferences.
Turner takes great pride in developing learning communities of learners and mentors to work as a
team to increase the quality of published dissertations.
On a personal note, Dr. Turner enjoys reading, research, gourmet cooking, and is a big fan of
action movies.
